Our farm covers an area of 80 hectares in the heart of the Val d'Orcia. Inside there are three farmhouses with swimming pool, a restaurant, a tasting room, two ponds and a large park with 30 hectares of olive grove.
The olive grove of Podere Valdorcia today has more than 10,000 plants. Our work is driven by the desire to enhance one of the oldest products of Tuscany using innovative techniques. The land is south west facing, at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level with olive plant varieties like Leccino, Frantoio, Maurino, Leccio del Corno and Pendolino.
This altitude together with the particular terrain and the temperature range of the day / night temperatures, offer an excellent product. To maximize the properties of our oil we let ourselves be inspired by the environment: the various cultivars were arranged according to their characteristics on the various slopes of the land so as to grow healthy and lush, taking advantage of both the particular climate of these areas , typically Mediterranean, where the frequent winds allow a change of air capable of inhibiting the development of pests. Large investments have been made to channel the water and to put a modern irrigation systems.
